For more than a century, the Montessori approach has been preparing children across the globe for life. All areas of the child’s development are nurtured and grown – cognitive, emotional, social, and physical. When you enter the prepared environment (the classroom), you immediately see the specially designed learning materials, children deeply engaged in their work and their learning, and children showing grace and courtesy to their environment and to other children.
"When a child is given a little leeway, he will at once shout, I want to do it. But in our schools, which have an environment adapted to children’s needs, they say, Help me to do it alone."
Dr. Maria Montessori, The Secret of Childhood

Meet Principal Delgado
Meet Principal Delgado
Principal Delgado began her career as a bilingual teacher in Fort Worth ISD after stepping into a Pre-K classroom as a substitute teacher and realizing she could make a positive difference in student's lives by becoming a teacher. She was soon promoted to assistant principal and two years later was named principal of Sagamore Hill Elementary School where she served for eight years. Under her leadership the school of over 800 students earned various Gold performance awards and a Recognized Accountability Rating by T.E.A.
In 2012, she became the principal of South Hi Mount Elementary where under her tenure the school won the Gold award and was recognized nationally in 2016 as one of American's Best Urban Schools through the National Center for School Transformation.
In 2017, Mrs. Delgado turned her attention to learning more about the Montessori instructional approach to learning and was named principal of Daggett Montessori School. She attended extensive Montessori administrator training at the Houston Montessori Center under the direction of world-renowned Montessorian, Dr. Betsy Coe and earned her Montessori administrator credentials from the American Montessori Society.
Mrs. Delgado came to Crowley ISD in 2019. She was named principal of Dallas Park Elementary where she served for two and a half years. With her experience as a Montessori administrator, she assisted in launching the district's Montessori program in 2020. In November of 2021, Mrs. Delgado was named the founding principal of Crowley ISD's new Montessori campus.
She believes an education is a window to opportunity and every child deserves an excellent educational experience. She believes in educating the whole child and discovering children's individual talents and strengths to foster their potential. As a first-generation college graduate of immigrant parents, she understands the value an education can provide. An education combined with hard work, determination and good will towards others were values instilled at young age. These same values continue to guide her today in all walks of life.
Mrs. Delgado has a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice and a Master's degree in educational administration. Originally from El Paso, Texas, she and her husband have made the Fort Worth area their home for the last 25 years. They have two children who are proud Crowley High School alumni and three delightful grandchildren.

What is a Montessori education?
For more than a century, the Montessori approach has been preparing children across the globe for life. When you enter the prepared environment (the classroom), you immediately see the specially designed learning materials, children deeply engaged in their work and their learning, and children showing grace and courtesy to their environment and to other children.
The early childhood model encourages preschoolers to:
• Explore and discover
• Show grace, courtesy and respect
• Take ownership of their education
While fostering social-emotional and intellectual growth, it encourages self-directed learning that promotes:
• Self-confidence
• Independent thought and action
• Critical thinking
• Conflict resolution and peace -
