Under the School Transformation Department, STEM Plus is helping fulfill Crowley’s Vision 2025 to provide all students with choices and access to early STEM opportunities and secondary CTE pathways. This means students are challenged with STEM learning in the classroom and extracurricular activities to apply their learning to real-world applications.
The Crowley ISD STEM Plus program focuses on building capacity in our learner profiles and their 21st century skills. STEM Plus focuses on student learning through applications of cultural relevance, collaboration, engineering design process, and communication skills.
Students are introduced to STEM and STEM careers through exploration and creative hands-on activities in Pre-K through 2nd grade. Students in 3rd through 5th grades engage in student-centered learning to identify projects for which they are passionate.
At the four middle schools and two ninth grade campuses, students are able to select electives that pique their interests and lead them into a career pathway in high school. Students will also have access to after school programs or clubs through STEM Plus.
