Update For Parents of Elementary Students Affected By Rezoning
During the week of March 25, 2019, Crowley ISD will be mailing letters to the parents/guardians of current elementary students who will be affected by rezoning next school year. Letters will be sent to the mailing address that we have on file for your student in Skyward.Online registration for returning Crowley ISD students for the 2019-20 school year opens April 15, 2019. At that time, you will need to register your student for their new school in Skyward Family Access.
If you would like for your child to remain at their current school year, then you must submit a Rezoning Transfer Request by April 5, 2019.
Rezoning Transfer Requests will be reviewed based on several factors, including available space. School bus transportation will not be provided. Parents will be notified of approval or denial by April 12, 2019.
Students who have been previously approved for a transfer to another school or who have been accepted into a MyChoice Program for 2019-20 do not need to submit a Rezoning Transfer Request.
The Crowley ISD Board of Trustees has approved a two-year plan for rezoning and restructuring schools to accommodate growth in our growing community.
Three Crowley ISD schools are scheduled to open in the next two years:
• A new elementary school in the Fall 2019
• A new career and technology center in Fall 2020
• The current career and technology building will be renovated into a fourth middle school in Fall 2020
As we build and plan for the future, we are adjusting where some students go to school and which grade levels will be at each campus. This means two things - rezoning and restructuring.
This two-year plan addresses four important factors:
• Transitions for students
• Convenience for families
• School size
• Academic performance
• All current elementary schools, plus the new elementary campus under construction, will become Pre-K through 5th grade campuses.
• The four current intermediate schools will be transformed into Kindergarten through 6th grade campuses for one year.
• Middle schools will remain the same with 7th and 8th grades.
• High schools will remain unchanged.
• The intermediate schools will become Pre-K through 5th Grade elementary campuses.
• Our fourth middle school will open and all middle schools will become 6th through 8th grade campuses.
• High schools will remain unchanged.
