Restructuring | Four Factors | Feedback
Crowley ISD is growing. More families are moving into our community and more students are enrolling in our schools.Three Crowley ISD schools are scheduled to open in the next two years:
• A new elementary school in the Fall 2019
• A new career and technology center in Fall 2020
• The current career and technology building will be renovated into a fourth middle school in Fall 2020As we build and plan for the future, we are re-evaluating where students go to school and which grade levels will be at each campus. This means two things - possible rezoning and restructuring.
Rezoning is changing the attendance zones that determine which students go to which schools, based on their home address.
Restructuring is changing which grade levels are in each school.
Restructuring Possibilities
OPTION ONE - Current Model
OPTION TWO - Pre-K through 6th Grade Model
OPTION THREE - Pre-K through 5th Grade Model
Four Factors
TRANSITIONS
Currently, a student who enters Crowley ISD in Pre-K or kindergarten and continues until graduation will attend FIVE different schools. The district would like to know how many transitions parents prefer for their children.
CONVENIENCE
Some families have children attending three, four or even five different schools. Would a different grade level configuration be more convenient for your family?
SCHOOL SIZE
Placing too many students in one building creates challenges. The district wants to maintain smaller enrollment numbers at each campus and evenly distribute students in schools across our growing district.ACADEMICS
Crowley ISD’s mission is to provide excellence in education for all students, and we are looking at how different factors like alignment of curriculum and state accountability tests are affected by grade level configuration.
Feedback
We will use your input to make decisions by this December. We want to give families, staff and students plenty of time to plan for the 2019-20 school year, when these changes would take effect.• See survey results
