Apply now to ensure your student continues to receive these benefits for the first 30 days of the 2022-23 school year. Please note, online applications are processed faster than paper applications. 

Am I Eligible?
Families that have a gross household income within the limits determined by federal government guidelines qualify for the Free and Reduced Program. Only one application is needed for all children in your household who attend Crowley ISD schools. 

Additionally, families receiving benefits from any of the following special programs may be eligible for the Free and Reduced Program:

• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
• Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)
• Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
• Families must complete the Free and Reduced Program application and include their Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number in the application to be approved.

Foster, Homeless, Runaway or Migrant Students
Foster children under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or court are eligible for the Free and Reduced Program regardless of the income of their resident household. Students who meet the definition of homeless, runaway, or migrant qualify. Your U.S. citizenship or immigration status does not affect your eligibility. 

Families must complete the Free and Reduced Program application and include the Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number in the application to be approved.

Early Childhood
Children attending a Pre-Kindergarten program are also eligible for the Free and Reduced Program. Pre-K Families wishing to access the Free and Reduced Program should complete an application.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) require that schools make substitutions to the regular meal for students who are unable to eat the meal because of their disabilities. The Child Nutrition department will make reasonable accommodations when a student’s disability restricts his/her diet and the disability is supported by a medical statement signed by a medical authority that is licensed by the State to write medical prescriptions or meal accommodation requirement in a student’s individualized education program (IEP).

Substitutions are required for students that have:

• A physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities including eating
• Food allergies that may result in severe, life-threatening (anaphylactic) reactions

These conditions meet the definition of “disability” and substitutions prescribed by the licensed physician must be made.

El Programa Nacional de Almuerzos Escolares (NSLP) y el Programa de Desayunos Escolares (SBP) del Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos (USDA) requieren que las escuelas sustituyan la comida para los estudiantes que no pueden comer la comida debido a sus discapaciadades. El departamento de Nutricion Infantil hara las adaptaciones razonables cuando la discapacidad de un estudiante restrinja su dieta y la discapacidad este respaldada por una declaracion medica firmada por una autoridad medica autorizada por el estado para redactar recetas medicas o requisitos de adaptaciones para las comidas en la educacion individualizada de un estudiante en el programa (IEP). 

Se requieren sustituciones para los estudiantes que tienen: 

• Un impedimento fisico o mental que limita sustancialmente una o mas actividades importantes de la vida, incluida la alimentacionl. 
• Alergias alimentarias que pueden provocar reacciones graves que ponen en peligro la vida (anafilacticas).

Help us serve your child swiftly so they can fully enjoy their dining experience!

Parents/students are strongly encouraged to deposit checks/cash in students' accounts rather than sending cash or checks on a daily basis. The time spent in line is greatly reduced when parents/students pre-deposit meal funds. We don't want to keep parents or students waiting in line to make a deposit either.
 
If paying by check, simply write the student's name and identification number in the memo section of your check. Multiple students can be included on one check even if they attend different Crowley schools, as long as you include their identification number. Our computerized system will have your students funds available at any of our campuses.
 
If paying with cash, simply place the cash in a sealed envelope with the student's name and identification number written on the outside of the envelope. Just drop off your deposit with our Food Service Manager and they will take care of the rest. If you don't know your child's identification number, the manager can help you with that.

The district has a grace period of two (2) days whereas any student without funds for a meal will not be required to take an alternative meal. Following the grace period district students eligible for free, reduced price, and full-price meals may charge up to the value of two meals. After the two meals are charged, students will be provided with an alternate meal.

Alternate meals will consist of a cheese sandwich as well as a choice of side items to be in compliance with USDA regulations. Letters are sent home weekly for Elementary students to inform parents of their child’s negative account balance. All Middle School and High School students will be informed of their account balance by the cafeteria cashier as they come through the serving line. 

Charges are not permitted for a la carte items.
