Where is Inspire Academy?
Each Middle School and Ninth Grade Campus have a particular area for Inspire Academy, a wing of the building or hallway. We are a program within the school.

Will my student be able to participate in extracurricular activities?
Absolutely! Students will be in Inspire Academy for their four core content courses (Math, English, History and Science) and will venture out into the general population of students for their electives.

What makes this Inspire Academy different from a traditional classroom?
Inspire Academy students will be taught by teachers who are filled with non-traditional teaching methods. Students will be speaking, reading, writing and moving constantly. Research-based strategies such as Whole Brain Teaching and Marzano’s Nine are some of the foundational pedagogy that teachers will use in their classrooms.

Can my student participate if they are in Pre-Advanced Placement (PreAP) classes?
Students enrolled in PreAP classes are not a typical Inspire Student. However, if a student has only requested one particular PreAP class we can accommodate them. 

How big are the classes?
The class size will be 20-24 students per class.

Do you provide services for Special Education students?
At this time we do not.

What is the dress code?
Students are encouraged to purchase an Inspire t-shirt and wear it when the campus dress code allows. We also request that students purchase one Inspire Polo to wear once a week on an allotted day selected by the campus Inspire team. On days they opt out of Inspire dress code they will be expected to adhere to the CISD Standardized Dress Code. Inspire students moving to the ninth grade campuses will follow the campus dress code, but encouraged to wear their Inspire t-shirts on specific days or field trips.

Will the bus still pick up my child?
Yes, they will use the same transportation as if they we part of the general population of students.

What are the school hours?
Since we are an academy within a school, Inspire Academy students have the same school hours as the campus they attend.

Will my student be able to engage with the general population of the campus?
Inspire Academy will be housed in a wing of each school building we serve, but during common passing periods, lunches or in elective classes, students will be with the general population of the campus.
